Let us take a minute to digest a Morsel of goodness on Vertigo in Children.

As many of us salivate over our meals, let us consider the “seemingly simple” condition of Sialadenitis and Parotitis.

Let us take a moment to update ourselves on Tracheitis in children!

Children have very few responsibilities and even fewer jobs (just ask my kids). The one job young children have is growing.

Seeing blood in a child’s urine will catch a parent’s attention.

A common theme amongst the Ped EM Morsels is remaining vigilant while maintaining a reasonable approach to the care of children. Many devastating conditions can be quite subtle in their initial presentation.

Jaundice can be a normal part of the neonatal period (certainly both of my kids looked like the Yellow M&M for a short period in their beginnings). However, hyperbilirubinemia also generates the concern for the development of kernicterus!

Diarrhea is no joking matter (although it can be the butt of many jokes – see what I did there?).

Omphalitis – is that a normal umbilical stump or something serious?

In diagnosing sinusitis, we need to remember to be vigilant for the more complex entity: Orbital Cellulitis.
